The picture that David removed is on Wikipedia and it was given that credit. You had better get cracking to get it off that website, w:Pope John Paul II and have someone explain why it is there.

Images on commons

Wikipedia has a different set of guidelines for graphics compared with commons, which is where wikinews graphics are hosted. The graphice is up for deletion on Commons because it does not have an attribution on commons. You could go there and add the attribution found on Wikipedia's image page, and that could resolve the problem; I don't know. - Amgine 22:42, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Alan, sorry I acted quickly, but when an image is up for speedy delete, it could disappear on a moment's notice, and leave us with an ugly "missing image" tag on the front page.

I made a good faith effort to find a better Pope image, but I could only find shots of him from afar on Commons, and the Vatican doesn't clearly publish a "public domain" image of the Pope that I could find. — DV 23:15, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
