New Scientist and the BBC got it wrong. "Dual to a black hole" has nothing to do with "similar to a black hole". Duality is a mathematical relationship in which different types of object follow the same equations in some respect. Water waves have a duality with light waves, since both are described by the wave equation, but that doesn't make water into light.
This RHIC fireball has pions "freezing out" at a temperature dual to the Hawking temperature of a dual black hole that would have gravitons freezing out. In our world, we see the pions, not gravitons, coming from a fireball, not a black hole.--Mokurai 04:25, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
