Is this a promo?
[edit]Is it just me or does this read like an advertisement? If it's not, perhaps a rewrite in a more newsy style would help. --Iain 01:01, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
i agree
[edit]this reads very much like an ad. Jtgotsjets 04:28, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
Should not have been deleted
[edit]I have restored this page, because it should never have been speedy deleted. Ads are only to be speedy deleted if they are spam or press releases. This was a reasonably nice local interest story not spam or a press release.--Cspurrier 11:48, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
Why is this published?
[edit]This story still needs work. I agree that it does not deserve to be deleted -- I don't see it as a blatant advertisement or a press release. But style wise it reads a bit like an ad and not really a news article. Not to mention, the headline is incredibly unprofessional. We should take this back to development until somebody is willing to reword and rename. Cllewr 20:38, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
- Also not wikified. This article is definitely not ready for prime time. Cllewr 20:38, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
Wikified, new title. This is to be a call to action, not an "ad", and there's little other way to word it, in my opinion. -- user:zanimum
- I wasn't suggesting that it was intended to be an advertisement -- I was merely saying that it read like one, such that it wasn't suitable to be published. It looks good now. Cllewr 02:13, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
