Time to remove the brutal[edit]

It is time for all people to take action to protect the people of Burma from further action.

"The world is watching" is no longer enough. Direct action must be taken to remove the brutal dictatorship.

It is time for the world powers to take action. It is time for each of us to make a difference.

Not taking action only makes us an accessory to the murders - and ignorance does not count!

Yes, It is action that we need, but what kind?[edit]

I agree that something must be done, but what? Realisticly, what can I do? I live in London Ontario. I work every weekday, what can I do? Even if i re-join the Forces, there is no UN posting to Burma (yet). Greenknight 16:15, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Simply notifying people of the situation in Myanmar is opposing the junta, as demonstrated by the murder of Kenji Nagai.
The course of action I would take would be to send in U.N. officials to monitor the human rights situation. Burma can not deny that it is a part of the U.N. and therefore it can not deny that it is at least somewhat bound by U.N. laws. --124.170.248.238 05:13, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The US won't intervene[edit]

China and India, two nations that the US is working on keeping happy, both render de-facto support for the junta (through trade). Both of them refused to publically condemn the junta for this latest bout of totalitarian thuggery.

So, basically, the US won't dare do more than simply condemn the junta, because it would likely result in trouble with China and India. Just remember, kids: if you want the real answer to any foreign affairs question, just follow the money trail...72.230.51.223 18:44, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
