Hi,[1]"under government...ownership or control." What makes this news is its the largest city (2 million) ever to be under complete wi-fi AND the BIG news(I think) is it will be done by the government rather than private companies.Neutralizer 01:37, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Baltimore MD hyped its free wi-fi hotspot that covered its Inner Harbor tourist attractions when it was introduced a couple years ago. But for city of Toronto to do what it's doing, frankly, I wonder what they're doing? -Edbrown05 03:41, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, I understand from the article what is happening. Thx for the story, Neut. -Edbrown05 03:45, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ed, just for your info; it now seems that hydro does have a hidden agenda so to speak (good catch by you). These transmitters will also be reading "smart meters" they plan to install in every home to track and maybe even control(in the future) home owners hydro usage..as well as providing customer online access to their hydro usage data.
