New Zealand[edit]

Should this feature on the New Zealand Portal?

I think so. FellowWikiNews (W) 20:06, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Must cite sources[edit]

The sources of information claimed in each paragraph should be cited. (unsigned comment left by User:Davodd) (--SVTCobra 01:04, 15 August 2006 (UTC))[reply]

I reverted the sources tag - so sue me --SVTCobra 01:16, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someone was on an 'allegedly' kick even though no sources use that word to describe the incident.--Tbeatty 06:19, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it was supposed to be "Two Fox News journalists (allegedly) kidnapped in Gaza."?

strange quote[edit]

Reuters article quotes Fox as saying ""negotiations were under way to secure their release." That means the negotiations have already terminated or else (more likely) it's a mis-quote. Neutralizer 11:38, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They have said that time and time again but this AM they also said right after that they had no clue who kidnapped them, who is responsible, or where they are. That makes it kind of hard to negotiate. Jason Safoutin 15:54, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In American English at least, "were" doesn't mean that negotiations are over. That would be "negotiations 'had been' under way".

How can you negotiate with someone that you don't know, see, or hear or for arguments sake exists? Jason Safoutin 18:21, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
