Bird flu epidemic could kill 50 million people:It isn't 150 million people?--a french wikipedian

Too sensationalized[edit]

The article content (and formerly the title) are too "sensationalized" -- they make you seem as if the world is screwed. This is definitely against the NPOV policy, so I marked the page. We could make the page more neutral if we put some statements on how the world may not be as screwed, and we could refrain from using direct quotes such as stating how a UN rep said that this is supposed to be global warming + AIDS times 10. We should fix this as soon as possible. —MESSEDROCKER (talk) 00:35, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, it was "News Of The World" material. :) Hopefully everyone is happier with it now, even if it is waaaaaaaaay off the front page. Brianmc 18:34, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The warning came from one UN health expert[edit]

It's apparent all this statements came from just one person, and that the WHO had in fact "distanced itself from the figure" (BBC). I'm renaming the article to express that only one UN health expert had given this warning. 25 16:48, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
