Why not just euthanize all dogs fitting this definition of "dangerous", i.e. those who have attacked someone in the past?

Interesting point, and one that I haven't heard a peep about. In the case of the Sullivan attack, the responding police officers shot two of the dogs and the third was later euthanized. -Edbrown05 04:26, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'd imagine thats usually the best way for cops to contain such a situation, what with risk of diseases effecting the dog's mind & such. I'm fairly sure judges can order the destruction of the animal, but it may be that they just don't do it often enough, such as when one dog kills another.
