Talk:Virginia dangerous dog law bill ready for Assembly debate

Why not just euthanize all dogs fitting this definition of "dangerous", i.e. those who have attacked someone in the past?

Interesting point, and one that I haven't heard a peep about. In the case of the Sullivan attack, the responding police officers shot two of the dogs and the third was later euthanized. -Edbrown05 04:26, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

Yes, I'd imagine thats usually the best way for cops to contain such a situation, what with risk of diseases effecting the dog's mind & such. I'm fairly sure judges can order the destruction of the animal, but it may be that they just don't do it often enough, such as when one dog kills another.
