I think that it is news since established news organizations are reporting it. If nothing else, it's worth reporting that other news organizations are reporting this merger. I think that the line should be drawn at reporting fear-causing news that are unsubstantiated, but in this case it's a simple business story. -- IlyaHaykinson 21:42, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Well obviously even simple business rumours shouldnt be reported on here in such an unsubstantiateted state, the only reason this was reported on was because Reuters and others picked up on it. If this turns out to be completely false (we may never know), this shows a lack of discipline on their part.
