{{QuoteRight|quote}} is a template meant for pull-quotes (i.e. the text in the cited quote also appears within the article body), which break up an article and give a point of focus to encourage reading the full article. Owing to limitations in the template it should not be used for quotes which consist of more than a simple sentence or paragraph...

Usage[edit]

  1. {{QuoteRight|quote text}}
  2. {{QuoteRight|quote text|quotewidth=10px|quoteheight=10px}} or {{QuoteRight|quote text|10px|10px}}
  3. {{QuoteRight|quote text|quote width in pixels|quote height in pixels|Origin of quote|Cited source}}
  4. {{QuoteRight|quote text|4=Origin of quote}}

Only the first parameter is required, the last example above allows the quote to be attributed without having to specify the size of the quote marks.

Parameters[edit]

  • Parameter 1: text of the quote; use <br /> between paragraphs. [REQUIRED]
Note: if the quote text contains one or more "=" (equal signs), then the template must be called as {{QuoteRight|1=quote text}} (see "Equals sign in parameter value")

The next two parameters can be used to scale the graphical quotation marks up and down to suit larger or smaller quotes.

  • Parameter 2: "quotewidth" - desired width of the quote image; defaults to 10px
  • Parameter 3: "quoteheight" - desired height of the quote image; defaults to 10px.

The last two parameters can be used to provide attribution for the quote:

  • Parameter 4: Name of the person that wrote or spoke the text being quoted. Can include links. (can also be called source=)
  • Parameter 5: Source of the quote (publication title, speech, etc.). Can include links.
