The 19th edition of WIKIMANIA 2024 started on August 7 in Katowice at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, Poland, which will last until August 10. The event is dedicated to Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.
This year, the organizers expect 1,000 participants from all over the world. This is the second edition of Wikimania held in Poland. The event was hosted in Poland for the first time in 2010 in Gdańsk. The theme of Wikimania 2024 is "Collaboration in Openness", highlighting the importance of open, collaborative volunteer work in building and maintaining the world's largest online repository of human knowledge.
