Absurd - sounds like the "supreme court" is in the pocket of the casino owners

Game of chance. This being true, largely, a team of two twenty year poker veterans has the same chance of winning/losing as an opposing team of two 10 day poker novices? If it poker is a game ruled predominantly by chance this should be the case. Is this the case?

It's not the case.

the decision is absurd and completely wrong.

While there is an element of chance involved in the game - it is a game primarily of skill. The better players will win the money from the worse players over the course of time. This is similar to say, backgammon, where on any individual game a novice can beat a pro based on the luck of the dice....but over the long run, the pro will win.

There are professional poker players - people who have been making their living playing poker for decades....if the game was a game of luck and not skill, this would be an impossibility. i.e., there is no such thing as a professional roulette player.

the skill is not in determining the outcome though, you have no control over what cards turn up. the skill, is set in outsmarting your opponents into thinking they have the better chance at getting the cards they need.

roulette is purely a game of chance, whereas poker has elements of skill dependant on chance
