possible solution to the israel-palestine problem: give gaza to egypt because saying that a future palestinian state will be separated by israel and therefore palestinians will have to commute between israeli territory is unrealistic. therefore a future palestinian state should only encompass the west bank. allow the israeli settlements in the west bank to stay, since they can never be realistically removed. however, do not allow any positive growth to emanate from them i.e. the settlements can only account for population growth by allowing increased population density within their established and set borders, or the migration of positive growth away from the settlements and into israeli or other territory to reside in. these are just some solutions to some fundamental sticking points. however, as far as i am aware, the israelis have the undisputed upper hand in this conflict, whether it be through state strength or diplomatic clout. therefore, the ball is in their hands and they are really the only ones who can change the present scenario. so if nothing eventuates, it is simply because they do not want anything to happen. that would be a sad state of mind, especially when a resolution would result in peace offerings from the entire arab world and hence islamic world. this would lead to the securing of a stable, safe israel in the middle-east. it would also open up the country to massive gulf, arab and muslim oil money investment, since it already is the most investable country in the middle-east. this would elevate israel to a highly prosperous and safe country. a resolution would also kill-off one of the major reasons why people would be drawn to terrorism.
