Israel ought to grow up

and stop whining like a baby. The Palestinians are people too, and despite all the attempts to silence them their voices must be heard. Like it or not the people have democratically elected Hamas, and its about time they had their voice represented at the diplomatic state level. Its very sad that those who hold the reigns of power in Israel are so terrified of a unified democratic state with full electoral representation for the native palestinians based on the principle of one person, one vote.

Sadly, Hamas has targeted innocent civilians, but Israel has as well. Both sides need to realise that this is unacceptable, and self-destructive.

What bothers me is that whenever anyone tries to so much as talk with the Palestinians, the Israeli leadership cries"antisemitism, antisemitism!", which of course is perfectly ridiculous. It's such a stale old strategy, and it isn't working anymore. This decades log conflict has basically consisted of both sides shouting over each other without listening and talking to each other. The Indigenous Palestinians do have the right to determine the destiny of their own land, and they should not be treated like second class citizens in their own country. The Israelis are there to stay, however and to think that they would simply up and leave at this point is completely unrealistic. Is there is ever to be peace, both sides need to put their egos and their religious dogmas aside and agree to work together for a solution. Israel's strategy to marginalize the Palestinians as "terrorists" is ludicrous and ineffective. It will ultimately only make Hamas stronger. There are lessons to be learned from history on this matter. The Apartheid government of South Africa tried to use the same strategy with the ANC and it worked for them, but only for a while. Eventually what will happen, what must happen is that all citizens of Palestine (Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Druze, etc) will have the right to govern themselves, and all rights including the right of return for Palestinians must be recognised on an equal basis. Both sides must recognise this soon. Anything short of this will only result in more conflict. A solution must be based upon Democracy, Tolerance and mutual Respect.

Osama bin Laden agrees with both of you.

Hamas is a terrorist group and should not be included in any legitimate discussion with any country. They have shown in the past that they will stop at nothing to try and destroy Israel by any means. They have launched thousands of missiles into Israel and have the people of gaza in terror with their strong arm tactics. To include them in talks , says to the rest of the world that Hamas should be recognized as a honest broker, which they are not. Every world government realizes that they are a group that is heavily financed by Iran, Syria and have the same mindset as Hezbollah as far as their intent to destroy Israel and they make no apologies for this. If Russia deals with groups like Hamas , they are in fact indirectly supporting terrorism in it's crudest form and that makes Russia look weak and perhaps even more ominously have a shared viewpoint of Israel's demise. My advise to the Russians, let hamas make fools of themselves as they have in the past. But remember one thing, they have weapons and use them freely, which can only bring trouble for the people of Gaza. The Arab States that support hamas are using them as a proxy to create havoc in the region and to ultimately escalate the rhetoric until Israel has to take measures to defend themselves at one point or another. Think about it Russia.

Wow, that's an enlightened perspective. Who has actually killed more civilians?, Hamas or Israel? Who controls more land? Who is financed by the world's largest economy and military power? Something seems amiss here.
