He stated, "many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason - to save our country and to restore America to greatness and now we are going to fulfil that mission together." "It is with great honor that I become your 47th and 45th President," said the 78-year-old in his speech. Regarding Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the former presidential candidate and nephew of former President Kennedy who later withdrew to support him, Trump expressed gratitude, believing "he will help make America healthy again."

At the end of his speech, he concluded: "We have to put our country first for at least a period of time, we are to fix it. Because together we can truly Make America great again for all Americans. I want to just tell you what a great honour this is, I want to thank you, I will not let you down. America’s future will be bigger, better, bolder, richer, safer and stronger than it ever has been before."

"God bless you and God bless America, thank you very much."
