What a Sunday it's a super Sunday. It's going to be a fantastic Sunday with two double headers for the sport lovers. July 15 is going to witness one of the greatest Sundays of all time with two grand finals in sports. One is the most awaited Men's singles grand final of the 2018 Wimbledon Championships between Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Kevin Anderson of South Africa. Novak Djokovic, the former World number one and 12 time Grand Slam winner back into form after a disappointing 15 month period is now into the finals with great efforts and would look to renew his iconic career with a win in the finals and would look to improve his singles ranking of 21. On the other hand, it's just a second Major Finals for Kevin Anderson after the 2017 USA Open finals. He has never won a Grand Slam title to his name. Can he edge past Djoko in the final to create history for himself and for his nation South Africa. South Africa is known for staging Ram Slam T20 Challenge but South Africa win a Grand Slam again after a very long time. It's Serbia v South Africa. Want to see Kevin Anderson to make history or to see the resilience of Novak in the epic final. Well both of them have played marathon contests in their respective semifinal clashes. No Roger Federer and no World no 1, Rafael Nadal and no Andy Murray either who is known for winning Wimbledon in 2016, 2017. Novak has been defeated by Anderson only once in 6 previous matches and so head to head favours the Serb legend and will Kevin Anderson turn the fortunes in his favour to defeat Djokovic only for the second time in his career and for the first time since 2008 inorder to win his maiden Grand Slam title. Let's see.
On the other the most anticipated tournaments, the 2018 FIFA World Cup just after the Wimbledon action. It's the most awaited final clash of the most surprising tournament of all time between the former World Champions France and the war affected small nation Croatia. What a scintillating tournament this has been and 2018 FIFA World Cup is set to be the most exciting and emotional world cup of all time. Of course Russia hosted the tournament as the lowest ranked team in the tournament but made it into the last 8 and unfortunately lost to Croatia. Avery good tournament indeed for the Russian football team despite crashing out of the Quarter final stage and a very good tournament for the Russian fans as well. Politics also comes into play and it happened in Russia too. Croatia singing Glory to Ukraine after their stunning scintillating upset penalty shootout victory against Russia. Croatia making into the final of the tournament after playing three consecutive extra time quotas in the knockout stages and never won even a single knockout match (either Round of 16, Quarterfinal or Semifinal) after the full time announcement. Croats despite winning all of their 3 group stage matches so easily even stunning and destroying Lionel Messi's Argentina 3-0 they struggled in the final 16 clash v Denmark and against Russia in the QF but in both of these scenarios Croatia won the penalty shootouts before qualifying into the last 4 and it is almost a fluke semi final appearance for them. They made it into semis with two back to back penalty shootout wins only against low profiled nations Denmark and hosts Russia (Anything is possible and anything can happen in anybody's favour when it comes to football). But in the semis they didn't need a penalty shootout this time around but played an extra time again and managed to break the hearts of English football team and English fans with a goal in extra minutes. Well Croatia didn't have best of its chances even to reach the last 16 due to the presence of big teams Argentina and Nigeria and even Iceland were seeming to be dangerous for the small Croats but however they managed to break the shatters and are now into the last 2 and also in the brink of winning either a gold medal or a silver medal in this edition of the FIFA World Cup. A scintillating performance from a small and least populous nation and also became the second smallest nation and least populated country after Uruguay to reach the final of this Big tournament. Can Croatia once again repeat their extra time playing record streak in the last match of this year's edition of the Football World Cup against much fancied French team in the finals. Can Croatia create history amid a formidable and strong defensive unit France? Can Croatia seek a revenge to their humiliating frustrating semi final defeat in the hands of France way back in the 1998 World Cup where they were crushed by host nation France 2-1 in semis before recording a 3-0 victory over Brazil in the final? Croatia have never defeated France in an international football match in 5 meetings and lost to the French counterparts on 3 previous occasions with 2 draws. So today's battle for the World Cup title is going to be just the sixth overall clash between two sides in international football and just the second overall clash between these two teams in a World Cup and for the first time since 1998 since that 1998 World Cup semi final clash where the Croatian team historically made their World Cup debut and managing to finish 3rd in the tournament after France and Brazil. This is also going to be the first match between these European rivals since 2011 and the first meeting in a competitive tournament since 2004. Will France spoil the party of Croatia and win their first ever World Cup title in 20 years since the 1008 glory and will France win their first World Cup title away from home. Will France lift their second WC title or will Croatia win their maiden ever World Cup title? Will Didier Deschamps win a World Cup for France as a manager this time around after winning the nation's first World Cup tournament as a player 20 years ago. Can Mbappe, Griezmann, Lloris, Pavard, Pogba, Mguiti combine to win a World Cup for France? Can France maintain their unbeaten record this World Cup or will Croatia maintain their unbeaten and winning streak at the World Cup? Can Hugo Lloris carry his superlative goalkeeping efforts as captain in the upcoming pressurized final game? Can Modric create history single handedly for Croatia? Will Mbappe be able to continue his fastest efforts in the field to upset the opposition? Will this World Cup have a new World Cup winner since 2010 or be the same old story? Will France become the 6th nation to win the World Cup titles on two occasions? Will it be a revenge game plan for Croatia and definitely one team out of these two teams is going to end its unbeaten record in this World Cup and who will be that team either Croatia or France? Will find the answers on today.
