The headline suggests the focal event is Timmerman identifying himself after being freed. The lede suggests the focal event is the rebels capture of Damascus. Then expand those into a complete paragraph forming the lede, then expand the lede into an article following the guidance of WN:PYRAMID. Misattributed quote Regarding the quote of "hammer-wielding men," the BBC made that statement, paraphrasing Timmerman's recount of his rescue. Our article reads as if Timmerman is being quoted as saying it, but no source supports that he did. The quote also draws attention to hammer wielding, when it was simply how the door was forced opened. Compare to CBS's treatment of the fact: "...two men armed with AK-47s broke his prison door down Monday with a hammer." Avoiding phrase bias We should be careful with our treatment (and analysis) of why Assad left Syria (ousted or fled). To remain neutral, we should either attribute such statements or avoid them, as the source articles have. For example, BBC just mentions the 'toppling' of Assad. Questions about the above? Ask.
