Iraq Bomb

[edit]

I had already started an article on this topic. Please check first, and it would have been nice if you built off mine.

Sorry I usually just write and go. I normally do not check the newsroom right off the bat. DragonFire1024 20:21, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

No problem. I somewhat merged the two. Club2007 20:25, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Hmmm

[edit]

gimme a hundred bucks, I'll write you a news story! I am playing, huh? Please don't respond to this post. -Edbrown05

Read the talk page of that article Ed linked to above ;-) DragonFire1024 19:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Seminole

[edit]

While the casino is named the "Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino," the casino itself is not located in Seminole, which is located in Pinellas County on the west coast of Florida, far away from Hollywood, Florida, where this casino was located. TheCustomOfLife 22:03, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I used to live in Largo FL. I thought that sounded wrong. DragonFire1024 22:06, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Admin needed

[edit]

Hey, I see you popped in. Glad ro see the snow hasn't cut you off!

I assume an admin is needed to fix the error to my listing on Wikinews:Credential verification. For the listing Brown, Ed... my Location: should read --> Prince George, Virginia, USA

Thanks, and don't get stuck in a snow drift :) Edbrown05 05:13, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Columbine incident

[edit]

I felt that the information I removed was redundant. I incorporated it back into the article so as to not look clunky. Theirishpianist 19:53, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

As reported by the AP:

"Kelley said she believed more than one threat was called in Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. She did not know whether the caller made reference to the April 20, 1999, attack by Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, who shot and killed 13 people before taking their own lives.

"Most of the threats that have been associated to that school made reference to past events that occurred there," Kelley said. "But a bomb threat to a school is as serious at any school as it is at Columbine."

Previous threats have made reference to the incident - not necessarily this one. Theirishpianist 20:01, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Where does she say that? DragonFire1024 20:03, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Seeing as her quote is not enough, I did some research on my own to confirm the fact. I know what speculation is, thank you, so I followed up with an unequivocal quote from another authority on the matter. Theirishpianist 20:19, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Great :) good work :) If i had the capabilites to call them I would have. I was not trying to be mean, just stating the rules of how things are done. good work :) DragonFire1024 20:20, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

IRC

[edit]

Hi. Could you join me on IRC to talk about the "boobs on bikes" issue? Thanks. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 20:40, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

I can but only for a minute as I have to leave for real "work." DragonFire1024 20:41, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
OK. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 20:42, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Actually I must head out. I will be around tomorrow afternoon local time. DragonFire1024 20:44, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Hmm. Not sure if I'll be in tomorrow... Its okay if you can't make it on IRC. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 20:46, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah sorry...I am already running late trying to str8ten this up... :( DragonFire1024 20:48, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
  • While I agree with you on this issue, I think a good comprimise (that Brian and other users would agree on) would to only remove the really revealing ones. I also think that reporting on the "boobs on bikes" parade is worthless. The Wikipedia article states that it is only to market to adults. However, if the women were doing this for a good cause (e.g. to stop lung cancer, etc) then it would be a good story to report on. FellowWikiNews (W) (sign here!) 21:04, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
I do not think it was/is worthless I just think that some of the images were totally un necessary. NZGabriel mean't no harm and it was a fun article but I just do not agree with having porn on Wikinews. DragonFire1024 19:07, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
