Uses of wikinews by Teachers

Wikinews allows anyone to report news on a wide variety of subjects. Its mission is to create a diverse environment where learners  can independently report  or post their academical ideas.

-Helps students write articles or assignments

-Learners engage with each other on the Discussion tab.

-It has a place called the water cooler where by learners can go there to find solutions on course related implications.

-Lastly a teacher uses wikinews to  assess learners' contributions using the following criteria.

-This refers to a tool for charting how many hits any given article gets and comparing different kinds of articles for learners at different times.

*•edit counter*

- a tool for charting how many edits learners' make over time, which types of pages they've edited, and which pages they've edited most.
