India - Kerala :Cyclone Ockhi effect 127 fishermen stuck in Lakshadweep to return.

More fisherman who were missing since the cyclone ochhi struck have started returning. About 127 men who were stuck in Lakshadweep reached Kochi Saturday night and Sunday morning in 11 boats. Nine of them who were completely exhausted have been admitted to the Ernakulam general hospital. Out of total 127, 14 of them are keralites, while the rest of them are from Tamil Nadu. More fishermen who are staranded in Lakshadweep will return Sunday.

Meanwhile, the search operations for those missing in cyclone are still on. A Coast Guard ship with fishermen and a Navy plane have set off for rescue operations. According to the government, about 95 fishermen who ventured into the sea in smaller boats are yet to be rescued. 

According to the Latin Catholic Church, 285 people from Thiruvananthapuram are yet to return. Menwhile, the fishermen who returned said that 10 boats from Kochi were destroyed in the cyclone. Thirty boats remain untraced. Two hundred and seventeen boats were already in the sea before Ockhi struck.

The total number of people who died in the disaster has touched 40. from this only 32 bodies have been identified.

Meanwhile, in talks held between chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and union home and defence ministers Rajnath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman, a decision has been reached to intensify relief operations for those affected by the cyclone. They also agreed to seek the help of neighboring countries to locate the missing people.
