Blue Mountains fires burn out of control[edit]
Two fires are burning west of Sydney, Australia in the Blue Mountains, a bad location for flighting conditions. The largest of the two fires, located near Blackhealth has been burning for 9 days. The 8000 hectarce fire broke containment lines earlier today. Forcasters expect unfavourable conditions for the next few days.
New Zealand town subject to window smashers[edit]
The New Zealand town of Otaki, located on the north island has been subject to vandalism, whom smashed around 70 windows at the local primary school. The police are reporting that the town library, memorial hall, law offices, tyre factor, butchery and the citizen's advice bureau were all attacked, with other attacks still possible.
White powder found at Buffalo, N.Y. courthouse[edit]
A white powder has been found in the Michael J. Dillon courthouse in downtown Buffalo, New York. The building and its 200 occupents, was immediately evacuated. The white powder, which was delievered in a letter, was found not to be anthrax, however test did not rule out anything else harmful. The letter has been removed for farther tests, and no injuries or illnesses have been reported.
