waiting[edit]

waiting for more sources, obviously. Appears to be a hoax. --MateoP 00:29, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I promise to you that it is truth. Pinochet has died. I am journalist of La Cuarta, the sold newspaper more in Chile, and am covering history here in Clinica Tabancura. The story came ten minutes ago arrived to us less, so it will take time so that it appears in newspapers and other informed sources. I apologize by the English, I know very little and this I am translating it by Google. My translator, Manuel Perez, are not here now so he cannot translate to me.Chileno 00:34, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
good to hear. I am watching an online Chile news channel and they aren't reporting it yet. So let's just leave it in development until we get more sources. Good to have original reporting though, thanks.--MateoP 00:41, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I'm almost certain this is fake. It already includes details on his funeral, something which certainly wouldn't be available if the news just broke. And Pinochet was alive and well just this morning [1] --Deprifry|+T+ 00:50, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
C'mon, follow the news, the guy was taken to Tabancura at 6:00 local time. Pinochet's old. Old people get sick suddenly. OK, here's my website: http://www.freewebs.com/lasnoticiasdehoy/pinochet.htm. I expect La Quinta to pick up the story soon. I'll appear on TVN at 20:10 local time. They're on they're way. For those in Chile, tune in to TVN. THis is exiting! Chileno 00:55, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The article quotes several Chilean personalities on his allged death, offering condolences and such and you expect us to believe that no news organsation picked it up yet? C'mon! --Deprifry|+T+ 00:58, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Read my site. I dont have time to translate right now. It'll explain everything. THe Chilevision cameras are here, so CHilean viewers tune in to Chilevision. TVN is expected to arrive shortly. Chileno 01:05, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I think there's a post on this on the La Cuarta blog. Try it. I seriously will not be able to post much soon, since im a reporter. TVN has arrived.
I'll put down US$10 that it's a hoax: La Cuarta, El Mercurio, La Segunda, TVN, and Reuters would've reported in by now. The blog at La Cuarta doesn't say anything about Pinochet. -- NeoAmsterdam 19:04, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Make that US$20 - I've finished reading the "obituary" Chato wrote. Chileno took it 100% out of context. The last paragraph reads (translated on-the-fly, of course) "In truth, it wasn't the plebisicte of 88 that destroyed Pinochet, nor the Rettig Report... nor the Valech Report... it was his [Pinochet's] illicit enrichment in the Bacno Riggs [account]. That's the turth, because by actions he was an assasin, had abused his power to kill and torture, more than half of Chile knew it, but what killed him was his theivery. Pinochet is dead." Will flag for deletion by 20:00 UTC. -- NeoAmsterdam
Make that 99.9% out of context. The thing's still technically an obituary. -chileno 23:20, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Still listed as "Category: Disputed"[edit]

I thought that once you remove {deletion request} the "Category: Disputed" disappears - How do I un-categorize a no-longer-disputed article? -- NeoAmsterdam 00:04, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

i say just leave it be. this way if someone stumbles upon it by google or something they don't get the idea it's real. --MateoP 00:27, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Like you did for a while... Hey, should this go in one of my subpages? -chileno 23:19, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
