Employee interviews[edit]

11/19/2012 at 6:25pm CST.............interviewed Target employee in Tyler, Texas (she requested anonymity); when asked her opinion about the 9pm opening time, she stated, "I think it's wrong. I have to come in that night at 8:45pm and don't get off until 2:45am." --Bddpaux (talk) 16:19, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Historical facts[edit]

Historically, (e.g. the past 2 - 4 years), most big retailers: Sears, Walmart, Target open about 3am on Black Friday. I know because I've had family up at 2am on those days!! --Bddpaux (talk) 16:19, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Just a random little bit for reviewer: The Nation leans a bit toward the left in it's stance(s). I don't like any LEANING of any nature in my reporting.....and, more importantly, it's not allowed here. I tried very hard to just pull out a couple of factual bits......if I got caught up in the leaning, please let me know!--Bddpaux (talk) 20:33, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • observed local news bit via KSLA TV 12 (Shreveport, LA) on 11/24/2012 at 6:05pm CST......."Store executives state even protests like this one had very little bearing on store sales." Showed a Walmart in Los Angeles, CA with approx. 30 employees protesting, wearing matching shirts and carrying picket signs. Lots of customers leaving the stores carrying electronics and smiling. Customer interviews[edit]

Interviewed a 41 y/o woman in Tyler, Texas on 11/21/2012......initials = MY. Stated, "The Black Friday thing is absurd enough as it is. 2am on Friday morning is early enough for any retail store to open. It's just wrong what they're doing to their people. I will not be shopping anywhere on Thanksgiving night." --Bddpaux (talk) 16:25, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, what can I say? Sometime, you just sort of get upside down on a story........I guess this is one of those times. I've run out of mojo for this one. --Bddpaux (talk) 02:14, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
