NPOV policy[edit]

You are not allowed to change the WN:NPOV policy without a concensus and your edits have been reverted again. Jason Safoutin 13:17, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are extremely impolite. Whoever makes the policy around here ought to review it, this is supposed to be a wiki isn't it? Are we not allowed to edit pages? Why then are they editable? Who are you anyway to police this policy? Who has appointed you as the policy police? What are your credentials, how are we to know they are not fake, and how do you know that my changes are not approved? Where on EARTH did you find your definition for vandalism? Can you in fact use a dictionary? ffs! -- Cranbourne 13:27, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
One. It requires the community to change a policy not one person. Two, please do not delete other users messages on talk pages. Policy cannot be single handedly changed. Jason Safoutin 13:31, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, dude, that would all be fine, except I didn't change the policy. I strongly suggest before you indulge in any further 'news reporting' that you invest in a dictionary and read it. If you still have problems understanding what is wrong in your revert of my addition, then please consult a teacher or psych professional for explanation. If both of those fail, I can recommend some good wrestlers. Oh and two, it's my talk page?! I'll delete what I want. -- Cranbourne 13:36, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is not good ediquette to delete messages. You amy archive them but do not delete them. Jason Safoutin 13:39, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
(The page is archived automatically...) -- Cranbourne 13:54, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Once again you are not allowed to change anything on WN:NPOV without community concensus. This is site disruption and considered vandalism. Jason Safoutin 13:39, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, whoever makes the policy should review that policy, if it is indeed the policy, since my change to the page did not change the policy. -- Cranbourne 13:54, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. Changing policy without any consultation with the community amounts to vandalism. --elliot_k 13:38, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it possibly does, if you either haven't actually read and understood the policy, or my contribution to the description of the policy. Or perhaps if you have a dim grasp of English, in which case a role as a policer of policy on an english-language news wiki is something you should approach more cautiously. But in fact I think even those people can understand what is going wrong here. -- Cranbourne 13:54, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As a new user, I strongly suggest you read your welcome message and read policy. Threatening users is also against WN:NOT and could result in a block. Jason Safoutin 13:46, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As a 'competent police' I strongly suggest that you re-read what I wrote, it is not a threat. It is a warning that if you attack me, reactions on you will likely be as delitirious as your attack is to me. (BTW, what you just said sounds like a threat to me ... !) -- Cranbourne 13:54, 23 March 2006 (UTC) updated Cranbourne 13:58, 23 March 2006 (UTC) and again soon after.[reply]

Cranbourne, anyone is alllowed to change project pages for a reason, but your not allowed to "revert war" with changes to any page, especially poroject pages. After being reverted once, you should engage other users in a dialog on Wikinews_talk:Neutral_point_of_view, or the water cooler. I've protected the page in question to prevent the edit war from continuing. Nyarlathotep 14:08, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another fine policy you've gotten me into. I'm afraid that that process tends to result in preservation of the status quo, regardless of merits of change. Sorry, but I have work to do and cannot continue this conversation. Goodbye, and good luck. -- Cranbourne 14:12, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please also protect this page. That is only fair given your decision to protect the NPOV page. I think it would also be fair to unprotect this page if my changes become significantly absorbed into the NPOV page, but not otherwise. Thanks in advance, you are a gem. -- Cranbourne 14:16, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cranbourne, your behaviour amounts to hostility. Please refrain or you will just end up being be blocked. Anyone is welcome to contribut and edit wiknews, but there are policies. Please have a read through this page: Wikinews:Introduction, Thanks. --elliot_k 14:30, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cranbourne, people miss use & abuse policy all the time around here. You were not wrong to make your first edit, but once reverted, you should talk about it with people. Some users, such as maybe User:Mindspillage, User:Bawolf, and myself, are sympathetic to the intent of your changes, but further discussion is always necissary when edit wars start. Blocked[edit]

You have been blocked for 12 hours for violating the Three Revert Rule. This is designed to discourage users from entering into revert wars and instead use the relevant talk page to reach a consensus and then introduce the material that can be agreed upon. You may appeal your block via IRC, or contacting another admin. For the time being you are restricted to editing this page. --Brian McNeil / talk 23:12, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
