There are always things to do on Wikinews:

Polish Weathermap[edit]
Hi Datrio,
Yes, it is possible to have a map which is zoomed in on Poland, using a higher resolution underlay that has more detail. I have such an underlay, but I haven't checked it in to the CVS repository because it is around 800MB in size.
I'm a little confused though. Is someone on the Polish Wikinews running WeatherChecker as well? I'm curious about your comment that the "program is pretty slow so far". It uses a lot of memory, so you need at least a one gigabyte of RAM to avoid paging your swap file.
When the Wikimedia servers aren't bogged down, I'm starting to run WeatherChecker in Automated Reporting mode (which generates hourly reports) for all languages of Wikinews, from my local machine each day, so you don't have to run WeatherChecker yourselves unless you really want to. There is also a potential to have some confusion if we don't coordinate other people running the software at the same time.
If you would like to run WeatherChecker yourselves, let me know and I will burn a DVD to mail to you, that has a modified version of WeatherChecker along with a high-resolution underlay with enough resolution to show a zoomed in map of Poland.
Otherwise, I'll be happy to add the region myself, and incorporate it in the next round of region additions for the regular reports.
