Hello David, I'd need to get in touch with the Dalai Lama's official press secretary :-)

Hello David,
as in the headline: I'd need to get in touch with the Dalai Lama's official press secretary. The Dalai Lama has been officially invited to Poland this autumn by the Marshal of Polish Senate, Bogdan Borusewicz. It's still a long time to go, and as far as I know, you couldn't interview His Holiness because it was too late, right? So, now we've got the chance, a *very* big chance to interview the Dalai Lama, and ask him a huge number of questions, including these about the last events in Tibet, which would be very interesting for the Wikinews readers. So: can I rely on you, that you will give me the contact to the Dalai Lama's press secretary and hm.. describe him the whole situation a little bit? Thanks in advance, Tomasz W. Kozłowski 19:48, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Tom - I just contacted them through the Dalai Lama's office here in New York, which will probably not be much help to you in Poland. Also, I know there are many invitations for the Dalai Lama and he doesn't accept them all (I think Tashi Wangdi mentioned that, also), so you may want to see if the invite is accepted before putting too much effort into it. Otherwise, if you contact office of the Marshal of the Polish Senate, they will probably be working with the DL on his schedule if he comes through. --David Shankbone - (talk) 14:11, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Rubenstein Public Relations

Nice idea: if we remain cautious and truthful, this could be mutually beneficent. You could act as an intermediary person who looks at their list of clients to see if anything interesting (like festivals, people, events, ...) can be covered. --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 18:15, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, we're still trying to figure it out. If we can get a relationship going with them where they trust us, and we trust them, then we are talking about having access to some of the biggest names and events out there. The Tribeca Filma Festival is the template for this: we get access to an event where we can get GFDL photographs; the Rubenstein client (TFF) gets their name on the boards behind the celebrity; and the celebrity is styled and dressed very well, poses for the photos, and most of them like that in the backdrop is board for a major event, for which they got the red carpet. It's a win-win-win kind of deal. --David Shankbone - (talk) 18:49, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

David,

Just wanted to point out that someone's using you image without attribution or mentioning the GFDL. (at http://studentpa.info/spip.php?article744) you may want to remind them of the conditions of the GFDL. A101 - (talk) 19:29, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks A101 - I'll send them a note. --David Shankbone - (talk) 15:05, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

"freshly shot AIG lobby photo - hard one to get, but now it's ours"

U iz bad. ;) --Brian McNeil / talk 22:37, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

I also have this beauty from the protest outside of AIG yesterday. It can be used on quite a few articles because the sign is so good and generic:

An old interview

Just wanted to drop a note saying that I've seen a great deal of positive feedback for your article Satanism: An interview with Churc.... Not many articles still get that much feedback a year and a half after they are written. Good job on that:). It's a great interview. Gopher65talk 04:56, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much! --David Shankbone (talk) 13:26, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Accreditation Expiration

Greetings, I wanted to let you know that our policy regarding accreditation has recently changed slightly. Specifically we've enacted an automatic expiration of accreditation after 2 years. You can very easily "re-up" your accreditation should you choose to, but at this point in time you're on the Inactive list. As such your accreditation will automatically be revoked on March 15th unless you request otherwise. Currently, posting to the following thread will keep your accreditation. At a later date, all Accredited reporters will be put in for that "re-up", at which time you'll be notified. Thank you, and should you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page. --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 20:47, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
