Welcome[edit]

I could slap a cute welcome message, but I figure you're a wikimedian... Thanks for coming over. Got any stories you might want to contribute? - Amgine 23:13, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome - its a hard job to greet new users and guess their background. I have contributed to both Wikipedia (possibly in the past) and (currently) Wikitravel. My primary reson for visiting here was because of a suggestion on Wikitravel's Travel News talk page. I have started a story there about the Cook Islands being struck by a Tropical Cyclone. Other stories that may be worth contributing are:
  • New Zealand Police - Is the Emergency 111 Call System Failing? - or You can call the Police for help but will anyone hear your scream?
  • New Zealand Police - Is traffic or crime more important?
  • New Zealand Recorded Crime Statistics available online
  • Legalised Kidnapping - Child Protection in Action
  • Child Protection and Family Law
  • Contribute to Backgrounders on things like New Zealand, Call Centres, Emergency Telephone services, Telecommunications, Social Welfare and Child Protection
  • etc.
Wow! Looks like a great list! I'd love to see the Cook Islands story. We really need to keep our weather stories more current. (There are other additions going on in the back ground, but current stories tend to be lacking until there's an emergency.)
Most of your titles sound good, and could make great stories. Will be glad to support however I can. - Amgine 23:41, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)
