Getting sick of people posting the welcome message on my talk pages.

Hi, Please get more involved on wiki-news; we need more gutsy contibutors. Neutralizer 19:41, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. And thanks for the supporting words on Talk:RAF officer refusing to serve in Iraq. I first replied when it was late and I was tired. When I saw the same guy had replied with his anonymous (and unsigned) non-sequitor, I thought I don't want to get into a shouting match with some anonymous punk. So I left it at that.
I see User:Mrmiscellanious didn't hold to his threat of leaving WikiNews. Damn. Can't wait for the next anti-Bush article to be watered down just like he did to President Bush may veto amendment that bans detainee mistreatment. Imroy 13:28, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Australian Portal[edit]

Hi Imroy.... Just letting you know that I've comletely redone the Australian Portal - it now displays articles grouped into days, the same as on the main page, and has a lead article. We can set our own standards on the Aussie portal - for example, we could ditch the whole "develop" and "publish" stages if we wanted to, or we could create an "australia-publish" stage, that would cause the article to appear as published on the Australian Portal, but not on the Main Page. Articles are still in the main namespace, however, and still have to be NPOV. Anyway, let me know what you think on the Australian discussion page. - Borofkin 23:41, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for re-englishing of the article about Vladivostok. -Svobo 23:40, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you let me know how to improve the article or how to rewrite it? This is my first news article on en WikiNews. Thanks for your help. --H.T. Chien / 眼鏡虎 (Discuss|Contributions) 12:40, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your opinion. Now in both Mac world or PC world, there is still not other video/DVD softwares can burn HD DVDs, the next generation DVD format, but Ulead VideoStudio can. I know Apple FinalCut Pro can edit high-definition video. Yes, that's true but it cannot burn HD DVDs. Is that qualified for newsworthy on this news? Thanks and best regards. --H.T. After reading the talk page of the article, I decide to let it be deleted. I will check the content guide when I post another article next time. Thanks for your help. --H.T. Chien / 眼鏡虎 (Discuss|Contributions) 18:36, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In respone to your Toronto edit[edit]

While ammonium nitrate is not an explosive by nature, according to Wikipedia, "ammonium nitrate can be induced to decompose explosively by detonation" MyName 23:21, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ur comments[edit]

on Talk:Web.com_announces_second_quarter_results could be worded better, keeping in mind Wikinews:Etiquette and "Don't bite the newbies". Doldrums 11:50, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dont be a Dick?-Official Warning.[edit]

If you would read the definition of the "Don't Be A Dick" policy, you would notice that accusing someone of being a "dick", as you have done here, is a an "assumption of bad-faith" in itself and is a pretty clear example of a personal attack against me. It would be in your best interest to take this as a formal warning and change your behaviour, because I will be monitoring your edits and if I come across any more offensive language, I will resort to taking Administrative action against you. If you really want to watch me like a hawk to make sure I don't use any bad words, then fine. I certainly can't stop you. But for me, I've got better things to do with my time. Happy watching. --Imroy 16:57, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Hi there,

glad to see that you've came from Wikipedia to work here too. I'd like to point out to you that WikiNews is under a different licence than Pedia, i.e. cc-by-sa-2.5 instead of GFDL. As you might know, the GFDL licence that wikipedia uses demands that content under that licence remains under the same conditions eternally: therefore, as unfortunate as it might be, we cannot simple copy text from Wikipedia! It came as a surprise for me too the first time I heard from it, but the decision to change the licence was taken by the Board already some time ago... So please do the same with Pedia as you do with news sources: rephrase the content into your own words!

Hope to see you around, --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 12:10, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that information. I might have been aware of the license difference (in the back of my mind), but I wouldn't have thought about it for text. Certainly not for such a short piece of text! Wouldn't that come under fair-use rules or something similar? I'll remember to watch out for that in future. --Imroy 13:57, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
