Welcome[edit]

Kim Bruning, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!

Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:

There are always things to do on Wikinews:

By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! → CGorman (Talk) 7 July 2005 12:01 (UTC)

About our referencing style[edit]

Hi, and welcome to Wikinews! It's great to see your contributions.

I wanted to let you know that we typically don't use the referencing style that you've used on Student arrested over "art" shirt with exposed wiring at Boston Airport. The <ref> tags are very useful on Wikipedia, but generally aren't used here. I'm not sure why that is (possibly stylistic) but generally, we simply list sources at the bottom of an article.

Feel free to check out the edits I made to the article to see how I used our existing system.

Thanks, and I hope you stay! irid t i e 18:15, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I moved Kim Bruning to User:Kim Bruning/Kim Bruning. Just remember next time to put all your "fun" pages in your userspace. Happy editing, FellowWiki Newsie 18:50, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was harmonizing my user pages, and noticed I'd made a mistake on wikinews. But when I went to move the page, it was already gone! The speed at which that kind of thing happens on a healthy wiki still amazes me after so much time. :-) Than you very much! --Kim Bruning 19:07, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A lot of people from Wikipedia tend to say that about Wikinews :) FellowWiki Newsie 19:32, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
