User talk:Mfreud~enwikinews
Hello Mfreud! Good job on putting in some replies to the interview. Can you get Katy to do the same? I think that would be grand. :) --Jbmurray - (talk) 17:16, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- (Copied from my talk page:) Katy and you would be grand, I think! Unless you feel it would be bad to leave Elyse out. Your call! Whatever's cool and easy with you guys --Jbmurray - (talk) 17:53, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- (Copied from my talk page:)I've heard nothing from her, and think you're probably right. --Jbmurray - (talk) 18:33, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Licensing on interview[edit]
Can you take a look at this section of the discussion page for the interview and sign as others have done please? This is so Raul can lift large segments from the interview and use them in the Wikipedia signpost. He's hoping to do this for next week's issue. The Signpost is a mainly internal publication for Wikipedians, but it is widely read among the WP community.
While this requirement might seem odd, Wikipedia and Wikinews don't use the same license. Wikipedia is GFDL, and Wikinews uses the Creative Commons CC-BY-2.5 license. The two are not compatible as the license adopted by Wikinews is intended to get people to credit the site as a source, thus raising its profile. --Brian McNeil / talk 10:22, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed[edit]
Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Mfreud. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Mfreud~enwikinews that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
