userMessage gadget

In regards to the evil link for the user message gadget - the demo link changed to [1]. Cheers. Bawolff 13:30, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

p.s. This isn't as dangerous as it once was, as it is limited to the user talk namespace now, where before it would be possible to construct a link like this that worked on the main page. Bawolff 13:30, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
yes, thank you. Sorry about the message. This is what i get for clicking on random links I see in people's talk pages. --PatrickFlaherty (talk) 20:32, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about it. Thats what i get for making such random links :). Bawolff 20:44, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
wait, where was this link that caused this? http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Bawolff&oldid=917794 I'm very confused. --PatrickFlaherty (talk) 20:52, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That was the link above - all it does is cause people to add
{{subst:yourarticlegone|1={{subst:Wikinews:Water cooler/proposals}} <div style="font-size:250px!important;z-index:200;text-decoration:blink;position:fixed;width:100%;left:0;top:0;font-weight:bold;"><div style="color:aqua!important;background-color:black">question{{subst:Wikinews:Water cooler/policy}}<div style="font-weight:bold"><div>{{subst:wn news}}</div>{{subst::Main Page}}</div></div></div>{{subst:Wikinews:Water cooler/assistance}}}

to the page in question (Which uses css tricks to make things ugly). This could of potentially been used to trick people (hey, I saw this cool link, you should click it-type thing). Which was somewhat concerning, as originally the script would edit any page, thus someone could fairly easily trick an admin into doing that to the main page. (with the added benifit of not being able to view diffs, would cause quite a bit of confussion) Bawolff 00:18, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

EU-CHINA

Yes, I just started the article, please just continue it. I don't have to much time today to work on it. Thanks.--Prt Scr (talk) 12:45, 2 December 2009 (UTC) You can improve it and reapir if you reconise a mistake ! Welcome.--Prt Scr (talk) 12:46, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The hu:interwiki doesn't work: A Kína és az Európai Unió közötti gazdasági kapcsolatok erősödnek . Do you know why?--Prt Scr (talk) 12:56, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks

Hi Patrick, thanks for supporting my RfA! And I should really get on Google Wave again, after a brief flurry of sending out invites I've kind of neglected it myself. the wub "?!" 23:45, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please join the discussion, if you can do it attentively, if you have some free 30 minutes?

I'm just afraid that this novice user Wikiwide, the author of the article, being probably a scientist (you just look at the first version of this article), has a very little understanding of what Wikinews is. And probably has lots of other work to do, is not interested, etc. Even the topic of climate contrarians near UNCCC sounds scientific, doesn't it? I think that if you revive this article, it will be very good

  • for Wikinews,
  • for this user, and
  • for the environment
    • (as some of the "skeptics" or
    • just common diesel car drivers can find this article realistic)

Please be informed that only an experienced Wikinews user can manage with such significant and responsible task. Q/0/k 04:14, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your support for my RFA

I would like to thank you for supporting my successful RFA and for your confidence in me. I look forward to serving further the English Wikinews community in this new capacity. I shall take the new tasks required of an administrator on board step by step and will make the utmost effort to fulfil the role to the best of my abilities.
