Wikinews uses a Creative Commons license for the majority of content. The specific license is CC-BY; put simply, you may reuse content as you see fit. The sole proviso is that you must credit text content you copy to Wikinews.

The key exceptions to this are:

Content created on or before September 25, 2005 - this is Public domain
Media files (pictures, audio, and video) - these are separately licensed or may be fair use
