- Wikinews is a citizen journalism site aiming to minimize bias (Wikinews:Mission statement). Wikinews is a sister of Wikipedia. All sister projects are listed at http://www.wikimedia.org .
- Unlike Wikipedia, Wikinews allows original reporting, that takes the form of interviews and in person attendance of important events.
- Interviews can be done via audio or video chat, email, or live chat.
- The live chat is on the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) platform.
- The public live chat rooms (channels) are #wikinews and #wikinews-en on irc://irc.libera.chat .
- If you don't have an IRC client (program) installed, click here. To get connected just enter a nickname and the channel of "wikinews" or click here.
- Many IRC clients are free and open source software, such as Quassel IRC and HexChat. The chat server address is "irc.libera.chat" and channel names are #wikinews or #wikinews-en .
