[edit]Suggestions from Peteforsyth:
- (9:11:28 PM) peteforsyth: Also, here are the things that had me hung up and confused the most when I got started -- probably more general than just "wikipedia background", but I would say important in any intro doc:
- (9:11:58 PM) peteforsyth: (1) what are the different kinds of CONTENT here (synthesis, OR, and interviews)
- (9:12:20 PM) peteforsyth: (2) what are the different kinds of PRIVILEGES here (accreditation, editor/sighter, and admin)
- (9:12:45 PM) peteforsyth: and closely related to (2): what are the things a non-privileged newbie is expected and/or allowed to do?

- Just a note to anyone who is working on this, When this page is ready for prime time, we might want to link it from {{Editintro from wikipedia}} which is shown to users who edit something directly after coming from wikipedia. Bawolff ☺☻

In Wikipedia we also have peer reviews, but we can have one whenever we want to and not right after the creation. Kayau (talk) 02:14, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- The peer review process on wikipedia is significantly different, with different goals then the one on wikinews. Bawolff ☺☻ 02:17, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
Re-express Fair Use Sentence
[edit]{{editprotected}} Can someone please replace:
- However, on Wikinews that would be unacceptable as they are technically a competing news agency.
with:
- However, using these images on Wikinews is unacceptable, as Wikinews is a competing news agency.
It reads better first time around - the original version is difficult to read - I needed to go back and read a few times to understand what "they" was referring to. Thanks! Twilsonb (talk) 16:13, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. Done --InfantGorilla (talk) 10:52, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
