This cat needs to be renamed as it now is extending into 2009. --SVTCobra 23:46, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Surely this and its 2009 category could be merged. --JJLiu112 (talk) 06:53, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@JJLiu112: I agree with merging but I’m not so sure on what to call the merged category because the financial crisis extended over 2007-2008 but was part of a larger crisis. Some of the articles in the categories don’t necessarily fit under "financial crisis". I’m tempted to go with Category:Great Recession, which seems to be the preferred term for the overall economic woes of the time per Great Recession at EN WP. Any thoughts? Great Recession sounds good to me. There are social and economic ramifications related to the Recession. JJLiu112 (talk) 17:03, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm replying simply to 'bump' the article in anyone's watchlist while also removing the {{flag}}. If the removal is hasty, please feel free to add it back. But I suspect after two years without comment and fifteen years since the Great Recession, the discussion is no longer important enough to the community to warrant being flagged (too many flagged discussions dilutes the effectiveness of the flag).
