Reuters link[edit]

Reuters link offline, link is 404 and archive.org won't load an old version - possible link replacement is: http://www.expressindia.com/news/fullstory.php?newsid=39899 --206.248.132.105 05:54, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea (Reuters protects its feeds from being archived.) I don't think this goes against the WN:ARCHIVE policy, as it seems to be the complete Reuters article. --InfantGorilla (talk) 08:50, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is OK, but we rely on a lot of Reuters stories for sources. It is understood in the archiving policy that links "die" and are not indefinitely retrievable. "Google News" and "Yahoo! News" links die even quicker. If a story gets published with the proper reviews, the assumption is the links represent something that was (at least) at one time verifiable.
