Talk:Cardenal Caro Province governor: Pichilemu Municipality to leave 107 families homeless
Add topicOR
[edit]I am not going to upload the video interview right now (probably tomorrow or on Tuesday), but here I'll put what the Mayor of Píchilemu, Mr. Roberto Córdova said on 19 November 2010:
- "Donde estamos atrasados es en el tema de la reconstrucción de viviendas. [...] El Ministerio de Vivienda no creo un programa especial para [...] reconstruir casas, sino que con los mismos programas que son parte de la nueva política habitacional implementada a partir del año 2004, 2005, se está aplicando esos mismos programas para darle soluciónes habitacionales a la gente."
The translated quote, or a part of it, will appear on the article. Diego Grez return fire 01:27, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
I noticed that Mr. Córdova had said more things in the original video (not the one I used for certain purposes, and from where I extracted the quote). I edited the video a bit, but it still has the not quoted part on the article. Hope this solves certain problem with verifiability. Diego Grez return fire 00:17, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Revision 1203871 of this article has been reviewed by BarkingFish (talk · contribs) and has passed its review at 00:21, 29 March 2011 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: I have reviewed the sources provided, both carrying the same material, so it's verifiable - the story is correct, the sources are good and have been used well, and the video shown on the talk page confirms the comments of the Mayor, Roberto Córdova. Passed with confidence that it's OK. The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |

Translation problem
[edit]'[The municipality] "did not register, nor conducted inspection visits" to the homes of 107 families affected by the earthquake.'
That's a poor sentence in English for a number of reasons. (1) We have two different types of past tense used side-by-side with the same subject ("did" and "-ed"); (2) "did not register" should not have "to" following it; (3) it's unclear whether the registration is of the homes or the families, given the wording. I would suggest losing the quotation, because that makes the English sentence structure awkward, and recast the sentence as the Pichilemu Municipality had not registered 107 families affected by the earthquake, and had not inspected their homes. Thoughts?
I would also be inclined to say in the 3rd para that the responsibility is the municipality's, not the municipality. Thoughts on that as well? Bencherlite (talk) 01:09, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- That's correct; sorry about my translation failures :P Diego Grez return fire 01:18, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
