Two-thirds? Exaggerated?

Queensland is huge! Are two-thirds of it really flooded?

I haven't read much about this, but it seems hard to believe that two-thirds of Queensland is flooded, as in under water. I skimmed the sources and found only one brief comment by a Pol that used the two-thirds figure. This would make the Katrina floods minuscule in terms of area.
