I live in Sydney, and do a bit of original reporting when the mood strikes me.
If you are interested in doing original reporting in Sydney, leave a message on my talk page. Tasks involved include:
- Going along to events and taking photos
- Going along to events and taking notes, recording audio, interviewing people
- Conducting interviews over the phone
- Conducting interviews via email
- Finding press releases
Original reporting doesn't need to take up a lot of time. If you ring up someone who is involved in a particular news event, such as a protest organiser or local MP, ask them a question, and then quote them in an article, you are doing original reporting, and enriching Wikinews in the process.
