This user has left the English Wikinews.

One of the things I loved about the Wikimedia Foundation was its neutral point of view policy, which I was led to believe applied to all sites run on Foundation servers. I stuck around on the understanding that this policy was inalienable.

I have now come to learn that this is not the case. The Foundation not only allows, but openly condones, the actions of Italian Wikipedia editors, who overrode the neutral point of view policy to redirect every single page on the site to a page expressing their opposition to a new law likely to be passed in Italy soon.

I do not agree with the law, and I openly oppose its passage, but I also do not - and never will - agree with the use of a Wikimedia wiki to push a political agenda.

I may be back, if and when a neutral point of view - one of the Foundation's core principles, and perhaps the most important - is returned to its prior position as a prime tenet by which the communities function.
