Just wondering[edit]

This is the second time I've seen this:
"Edits will be incorporated into the stable version once an established user reviews them..."
What's the purpose of this? How do you qualify as an "established user"? What is this? -- Poe Joe (Talk) 00:47, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

We are hoping to provide news that is devoid of vandalism. The previous lack of editorial control prevented Wikinews articles from being listed at news-aggregators such as Google News. For specifics about this user class you may want to read Wikinews:Editor, however it is rather new and not all aspects have been worked out yet.--SVTCobra 01:30, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Headline[edit]

The length is probably unnecessary. "Campaign offices for John McCain evacuated" would have sufficed.--71.82.81.238 06:33, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

That title would assume that all his offices were evacuated, which in this case, only two were evacuated. its the Who what and where. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 19:04, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

US Biased[edit]

There is considerable US bias in this story. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.245.186.56 (talk) 18:31, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Its a US story about a potential US president where the incidents happened in US states...How can this article include foreign relations? You cannot have a US biased on a US story IMO. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 19:03, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
We could, for example, highlight Germany's response to this evacuation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.245.186.56 (talk) 20:06, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Germany? Why? and why would they have anything to say about this? DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 20:20, 23 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
We could also state the the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada has apologized for the situation. I don't know if they have, but they seem to issue random apologies on a regular basis, so it's a fair bet that we could find a generic one to fit this situation.
