Dear Apostle Billy Joe, we will all miss you, will see you in heaven. This is a moment of sorrow mixed with joy. Dr. Vargas, www.mynor.com

A Man of compassion for a Lost and hurting world[edit]

As a teenager who knew very little about God I meet Billy Joe in 1979. Billy Joe and a friend of ours brought me into his office, Billy Joe convinced me to go to his first VBI Bible school class in 1979. I have known and talked to him over these last 30 years. I and my family have attended his church Victory Christian Center a very long time. Two things I admired about him was his Vision and compassion for a lost and hurting world. He was and will always be missed until we see him in heaven. KEVIN L. B. Tulsa OK

Remembering Pastor Billy Joe[edit]

In 1981 Pastor Billy Joe and Sharon flew to Guatemala with me to do crusades for Pastor Jim Zirkle and Living Water Teaching in the jungles and volcanic mountains there. It will remain one of my most precious memories in 30+ yrs of ministry because during that time I witnessed first hand, the love of one of the most compassionate couples that I have ever known in ministry any where in the world as I have traveled it. Humble would describe them best, as no matter how large their membership grew, they also remained the same pure hearted people, never high minded, but unchanged in their simple loving approach to the work of Christ and the loving of his people great and small. We at the Ground Zero Prayer Shield and Harvest Projects International in Tulsa, will miss this father of the faith and continue to pray for his precious wife and family. Though we grieve not as others, we are indeed deeply saddened at this sudden loss. But one day we know, that his unique laugh will greet us in the joy of reunion on resurrection day! God bless you Billy Joe! Thanks for being my faithful friend and for ordaining me to the ministry so long ago.

Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty[edit]

Your article states that Pastor Daugherty was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Not true. Billy Joe was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on April 23, 1952. Billy Joe was my oldest and dearest friend. We both grew up in Magnolia.
