Do you agree with this move?[edit]

I doubt that anyone has specific intelligence into any planning that may or may not be occuring, it seems like the threat level only exists to scare people and isn't that the terrorist's job?

That's the idea, really. In the eyes of the politicians, it may help by alerting people, but in basis threat levels tell you when to be afraid. It's interesting that they don't do a very good job. I guess the media would need to scream about it more. — (talk) 08:29, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

More of "1984." Just a few years late.

Don't you believe it[edit]

As I commented as soon as the level was changed, and again in irc, I'll believe it when something explodes and not before. Yes, I do believe that if there was a real threat they'd raise the level, but I consider it far more likely to be something to scare the nation with. Perhaps they have a new antiterror kneejerk policy coming out. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 12:25, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Ah, the favorite " STATE OF EMERGENCY AH NED MOAR POWAH" Excuse. I really dont see why the U.K needs it, they already can wiretap and spy on people as they please. This all stinks of a patriot act MK2: UK edition or something. (talk) 16:03, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
