While the marines could have fought back, I guess they elected to go peacefully to avoid a bloodbath and maybe even a war... Dan100 (Talk) 14:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Commodore Nick Lambert commented on the BBC that there was a helicopter in support - that could have also started a fire-fight by using its Sea Skua missiles (in which case the Iranians would have probably been stuffed). Cueball 15:22, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

US and UK might just be waiting for something that could allow them "intervention." I would like to hear some information from sources other than BBC, etc., i.e. Iranian, e.g. Syrian, etc.

(Very cool idea, creating a forum for opinions on news pages, BTW!)

Hi Ben, I tried to add something from the other side (and failed so far). I hope it has enough of what is called "credibility" -- Torsten 18:30, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Big trouble[edit]

I think Iran is in for a heap of trouble now and will likely have to answer to many countries...this could very well be the act of war from Iran the US has been waiting for. DragonFire1024 18:43, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

And What About The Cars?[edit]

1) Were cars found on the ship?

2) More importantly, echoing Big Trouble's comments above, this could escalate into a real mess. The Israelis recently used a simiilar "provocation" to attack Jordan, completely distroying the Jordanian civil infrastructure.
