Gunmen have killed four French tourists in Mauritania, Africa. The police chief of Aleg, Mohamed Ould Lemine, told Associated Press that the tourists were robbed at gunpoint before being gunned down with automatic weapons.
A fifth French tourist is reported to have survived, but is seriously injured. The gunmen reportedly sped away after the attack which took place East of the capital, Nouakchott.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that four French citizens died in Mauritania, but not any of the details surrounding the case.
