stats.grok.se no longer works and is considerably inaccurate by comparison (did not include mobile views, for instance). The new tool uses the WMF-provided pageviews API. Hope this helps MusikAnimal (talk) 23:50, 5 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@MusikAnimal: Thanks. Deployed. I've found WMF-provided tools very iffy, but in this case the pre-existing alternative is nonfunctional so they couldn't easily do worse. :p  --Pi zero (talk) 00:22, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Pi zero: This tool was authored by yours truly (and friends)! The API is provided by WMF, but so was the data the stats.grok.se went off of. Only that data was mostly wrong, but gave a good idea of traffic. What you see now I'm told is around 99.9999% accurate :) MusikAnimal (talk) 19:11, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@MusikAnimal: Although volunteer authorship is definitely a good thing, avoiding a host of problems with the WMF (I'm going to great lengths to develop my dialog tools that way), in the past I seem to recall both toollabs as a whole going down and individual tools disappearing for no good reason. Best, I think, would be for WMF to make wiki markup an intrinsically flexible and super-robust platform, and let the volunteers write everything in wiki markup. --Pi zero (talk) 19:40, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@MusikAnimal: Btw: cool tool. :D  --Pi zero (talk) 21:03, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
