Per Johan Axelsson broke a scoreless tie 4:24 into the second period for the Bruins. Marco Sturm scored a power play goal a few minutes later to put Boston up by two goals. Shane Hnidy added a shorthanded goal early in the third period, and David Krejci scored to make it 4-0 with under a minute left in regulation. Tim Thomas made 34 saves and earned his third shutout of the season.

Kevin Dallman gave the Kings the first lead of the game six minutes into the game. Stephane Robidas scored a power play goal in the third which tied the score for Dallas. In the second period, Stu Barnes scored 16 seconds after the opening faceoff. Brenden Morrow scored a power play goal at 6:15, and then Loui Eriksson scored a pair of goals to put the stars up by 4 goals. Jere Lehtinen scored 4:26 into the third period, and Niklas Hagman made the score 7-1 with under 5 minutes left in the game. Mike Cammalleri scored a goal for Los Angeles with 2:58 left in the third period. Marty Turco only faced 14 shots the entire night from the Kings. He made 12 saves and earned his 31st win of the season.

Anton Stralman broke a scoreless tie 7:25 into the second period for Toronto. Mathieu Dandenault tied the score for the Canadiens under a minute later. Toronto responded immediately with their second goal, this time by Anton Stralman. Jiri Tlusty scored a pair of goals in the third period to put the Maple Leafs ahead by 3. Tom Kostopoulos scored for Montreal with 16 seconds left in the game, but Toronto was still ahead by 2 goals. Vesa Toskala made 21 saves and earned his 33rd win of the season.

Richard Park scored with 5:01 left in the first period to put the Islanders on the scoreboard first. Blake Comeau gave the Islanders a two goal lead at 7:43 into the second period. Daniel Brière scored a power play goal to put the Flyers on the board with 4:36 left in the second period. Joffrey Lupul tied the score for the Flyers in the third period. New York retook the lead when Frans Nielsen scored, but the Flyers tied the score with a Mike Richards goal with under 5 minutes left in regulation to force overtime. Brière scored the only shootout goal, which gave the Flyers the win. Antero Niittymaki made 27 saves, and three shootout stops, and improved his record to 12-9-2.

Viktor Kozlov broke a scoreless tie for the Capitals 2:48 into the second period. Mike Green also scored for Washington in the second period. Alex Ovechkin scored his 62nd goal of the season to put the Capitals up by 3 in the third period. Cristobal Huet made 32 saves and picked up the win and his 4th shutout of the season.

Chad Larose scored Carolina's only goal 17:24 into the first period. Jussi Jokinen scored a power play goal for Tampa Bay to tie the score 18 seconds into the second period. Jeff Halpern gave the Lightning the lead 5:43 into the third, and held on to pick up the win. Kari Rammo started for the Lightning and stopped 38 of Carolina's 39 shots, earning his 7th win of the season.

Andrew Ladd scored 1:40 into the first period for the Blackhawks. Jonathan Toews scored his 22nd goal of his rookie year to put Chicago up by 2. Duncan Keith and Craig Adams each scored power play goals to put the Blackhawks up by 4 early in the third period. St. Louis got on the scoreboard when Keith Tkachuk scored at 6:11 in the third. Brad Boyes scored his 41st goal of the season to bring St. Louis within 2 goals with 4:58 left in the third. Paul Kariya scored to bring St. Louis within 1 with 2:40 left in regulation, but they weren't able to find the net again. Nikolai Khabibulin made 31 saves on 34 shots, and improves his record for the season to 21-19-6.

Matthew Lombardi broke a scoreless tie 5:43 into the third period, giving Calgary the lead. Denis Grebeshkov scored for the Oilers just over a minute later, tying the score at a goal apiece. Dustin Penner scored a power play goal at 10:48 to give the Oilers their first lead. Dwayne Roloson stopped all but 1 of Calgary's 32 shots, earning his 14th win of the season.

Player of the Day

Tim Thomas shut-out the Senators on Saturday, his third SO of the season and the seventh of his career.

Today's Player of the Day is Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins. Thomas made 34 saves between the pipes and shut out the Ottawa Senators. It was his third shutout of the season, and the 7th of his NHL career.
