This is the category for the Pacific Ocean, the largest of the Earth's oceans.

Use this category for news that takes place on (or under, or about) the open ocean, but not as a region of the globe, as such. That is, although land masses within the Pacific may be categorized here (generally if they don't have a conventional region), events taking place on those land masses do not necessarily belong in this category. Note that significant parts of the Pacific Ocean, though not all of it, are in the Oceania region.
