Although loosing a child is a horrible thing to happen it is definitely not internationally news worthy, and should be taken off of the site.--JHoltzman 01:43, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, but since I'm voting in this, I'll let another admin delete it.  Thunderhead  ►  01:46, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to delete something, it should be brought up on the deletion requests page for discussion. Currently we have enough server space to include this. There are plenty of other stories which aren't international to me either, but we allow them. I am going to remove it from the second lead, however.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 01:55, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wikinews is not meant to report only on "internationally significant" news. at the moment, all published articles get listed on the front page, and is likely to do so until we publish so many stories everyday that they overwhelm readers. as for making it the second lead article, i don't see a problem with it - for all its attempt at "international"-ness, the reality is that contributors and stories from a handful of places do dominate Wikinews coverage and and one days lead is not going to change that. if we can make gaming console releases and lottery winner announcements lead article, we can give this kid a day's worth of attention when its really needed too.  — Doldrums(talk) 04:06, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
