Quote[edit]

The quote from John Hemmings is taken from Hansard: see theyworkforyou.com, Hansard source. Although Hansard allow MPs to make minor stylistic changes to their words before publication, it appears that the newspapers here have all copied one another (fine yesterday, but now yesterday's Hansard is out, they probably should have used the original quote). If this isn't allowed, just cut the quote so it matches what is in the newspapers. It would just be nice if Wikinews could actually be better than the newspapers in this instance. —Tom Morris (talk) 10:35, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I would rather see the quote from Hansard used over that in the newspapers if there is any difference - Cartman02au (Talk)(AU Portal) 10:13, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The only difference is that the final clause (regarding Lee Gilliland) is omitted from the newspaper reports. (I'm rather distrustful of newspaper quotes: I was quoted in The Guardian once and I ended up saying something quite different to what I actually said!) —Tom Morris (talk) 11:40, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
